Symptoms and Causes of Eczema

There is no certain cause of Eczema but it is generally considered as an allergic disease. It also has another popular name that is Atopic dermatitis. It runs along with asthma and hay fever. Research shows that common causes of asthma include variation in temperature or humidity, unusual allergies like dust, chemical irritants like paints, pesticides, perfumes and so on. Other causes include physical irritants like synthetic clothes, emotional anxiety or nervousness and any other kind of infection. Metals like nickel and all ornaments also act as allergens and may cause Eczema.

Other types of Dermatitis are Statis, Infantile Dermatitis and Contact Dermatitis. Statis affects the lower part of the legs and its allergens include cosmetics and poison ivies. Infantile Dermatitis mostly affects small children and is caused by drool or inflammation of the scalp known as cradle cap.

There are two divisions of Contact Dermatitis. These are Direct Irritant Contact Dermatitis and Allergic Contact Dermatitis. Direct Irritant Contact Dermatitis is caused by straight exposure to acids, alkaline detergents and other chemicals that agitate the skin. It mostly occurs in job places and if regularly the condition is said to be chronic. Allergic Contact Dermatitis is caused by exposure to skin allergens that may either be physical or chemical.

Typical symptoms of Eczema include skin redness, howling of the skin, inflammation, lignification and pain.Eczema also has effects on the immune response system. Food imbalance has been proven to be a cause of Eczema and therefore proper diet is a perfect cure for the disease.
