Internet Marketing Tips - Email Marketing Nightmares to Avoid

Well, if you're an Internet marketer, you're into email marketing as well. If you're not, you're losing out on thousands of dollars of income monthly. I kid you not. I've been doing email marketing for over five years now and let me tell you, it has been a life saver for me. However, there are nightmares associated with this practice that you need to be aware of. Otherwise, you open yourself up to, not only failure, but possible imprisonment as well. So please pay careful attention to my warnings.

At the very top of my list is spam. I don't know why marketers feel that they have to spam people. Did you know that by building a legit opt in list, you can make more money than by sending unsolicited email to a bunch of strangers? It's true. But let's for argument sake say that spamming made you a fortune. Here's the problem with it. It's illegal, and the penalties today are quite severe. If you think I am kidding, take a look at the news. Just recently we had a spammer take his own life because he was being sent to prison. Don't spam. End of story.

Then of course there is the problem of misleading or deceptive email subject lines. Look, even if the email you're sending is going to somebody who opted into your list, sending them a subject line that doesn't match the content of the newsletter is going to tick them off to no end. The result? They will unsubscribe from your list and you will never hear from them again. So do yourself a favor. If your subject line says "3 Tips For Pay Per Click Advertising" make sure that's what's in the email.

Finally, we have the actual way your email gets delivered. A lot of marketers think they're going to take the cheap way out and get their own autoresponder script so that they don't have to pay a company like Aweber. Well, here's the problem with that school of thought. For one thing, if enough people scream spam (just because it isn't doesn't matter) your ISP can shut you down in a flash. Aweber, and companies like it, takes all the responsibility. Also, delivery of emails is usually better through these services than your own service for reasons that are just too numerous to get into here.

So if you're going to do any email marketing at all, please consider these things. They just might save you from having your own nightmares.
